    • Ester was born in Oslo Norway in 1898 At a very young age she emigrated to the USA with her parents The family resided in the Minot area North Carolina where they farmed
      Ester started her schooling there and around 1907 her parents decided to move to Estevan where she continued her education in Saskachewan and helped her mother take in washing and mending to make ends meet
      She married David Howie in 1914 and they had seven children
      In 1949 after her husband died Ester moved to Nampa to live with her son Ronald
      She died in 1984 and is buried in the Nampa Cemetery
