Notes |
- No birth or death details found to date for this Richard
He marries Ruth Leeson 18th Oct 1757 Sutton in Ashfield She is born /christened 3rd June 1732 so I expect Richard to be of like age
His two sons Richard and John are both in business as Joiners and he may have had them apprenticed unless he himself was a trained joiner carpenter Both sons kept cattle a milch cow or milch beasts according to their respective wills and this suggests a farming background When his will was located Richard is stated to be a carpenter as I had surmised
The will found for Richard puts his death at about 1782 but no burial record has been found
The will follows on shortly after the death of his mother (2 years later)and I rather think he is concerned about his health He charges his brother in law Samuel Stafford and his cousin William Leeson as trustees and executors to sell or dispose of his estate at best to maintain and provide for his wife Ruth and to maintain and educate his four children Mary, Richard, Ruth and John Adlington They are to share equally
The real estate mentioned is in Skegby and sounds to be the estate left to him by his mother Sarah
Witnesses are John Dakenye Ann Leeson and John Leeson
In the event Richard lives for another 10 years after the will is drawn the will proved in either 17 Aug 1782 or 7 Jan 1783 It is probable that the first date Aug 1782 is in fact the date of death incorrectly transcribed and his wife Ruth has predeceased him The terms of the will would still apply the estate being split equally between the four children
